RX Weight Loss Services

  • Clients will initially meet with a Nurse Practitioner or Physician to review their medical history and discuss their weight loss goals. Some medications will require lab tests to determine eligibility. Once a treatment plan is agreed upon a prescription for the medication will be written.

Follow up visits with the provider will be done monthly to ensure the desired results are being met and to address any concerns.

  • All GLP-1 weight loss medications are injected with a subcutaneous needle. This means the medication is injected with a small gauge needle to the layer of fat cells and is painless to most. Our provider will demonstrate how to self administer the medical. Injections are weekly.

  • GLP-1 (semiglutide & tirzepatide) medications produce weight loss by suppressing the appetite of the users. Some clients have shown the ability to lose 20lbs after 4 weeks of treatment. Additionally, clients may see improvements in their cholesterol profile, blood pressure and hemoglobin A1C levels. All these improvements decrease cardiovascular risks, improve quality of life and increase longevity.

Prescriptive or RX weight loss involves the use of medications prescribed by healthcare providers to help individuals lose weight. These medications work in various ways, such as suppressing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, or reducing absorption of fat. It is important to note that prescription weight loss medications are typically recommended for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with obesity-related conditions, but it is not a requirement. Before starting any prescription weight loss medication, consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary to determine if it is a suitable option based on individual health goals and medical history.

Semaglutide is a modified molecule our bodies make, called a GLP-1 analog. It works by increasing insulin production and lowering glucagon secretion as well as targeting areas in the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. A small change in the molecule allows the drug to last weeks in our bodies rather than the natural version our bodies make, which lasts minutes.
